How much

should I plan to pay

for a home birth?

LifeCircle Midwifery offers a sliding scale from $6500-8500.

For a sliding scale to work, it relies on the principles of truthfulness, respect for the complexity, and enormity of work that midwifery care entails, and accountability.

We ask you to consider the idea of sacrifice versus hardship when examining your access to our care. If paying our fee of $8500 would be difficult, but not detrimental, it could qualify as a sacrifice. You might have to cut back on other spending (such as going out to dinner or buying coffee), but this will probably not have a long-term, harmful impact on your life.

It is a sacred sacrifice in order to access care that is congruent with your values.

If, however, paying at the higher end of our fee would lead to a harmful impact on your life, such as not being able to put food on the table, pay rent, or pay for your transportation to work, then you are dealing with hardship. Folks coming from a space of hardship typically opt for the lower end of the sliding scale. LifeCircle Midwifery believes that all people should have access to midwifery care, and has agreed to work on a sliding scale. Please consider our commitment to your care and the care of others in our community when choosing the appropriate spot on our scale.
